Jane LeMond-Alvarez, has written many articles regarding child abuse. Her goal is to make new laws to stop this destructive epidemic and start protecting children!
Her book is based on her professional and personal experiences with physical, psychological and the sexual abuse of children.
Professionally, as a Crime Analyst with the Oxnard Police Department, she has had extensive contact and knowledge of sex offenders and children who have been abused and has followed hundreds of cases through the criminal justice system.
Personally, in 1992 Jane adopted three such abused children. She has shared much of their pain as they progressed through this destructive epidemic.
She wrote her book because of her exasperation with the justice system. The title of the book, BLINDERS, reflects many attitudes of the American public, if not worldwide. When Jane started attempts to take the children away from their drug-addicted parents, she thought it would be easy. Surely, the courts would be happy to remove these beautiful children from the home of addicts and sex offenders and give them to a home free of such disgust. NOT SO! It took over 18 months to fight the system because the courts believe so strongly in REUNIFICATION. This action results in many of those children being placed back into the homes of the abusers that eventually lead to many deaths.
SPEAK UP AND BE HEARD!
STOP REUNIFYING CHILDREN WITH THEIR ABUSERS.
